Tumbling Along The Coastline
Tumbling along the coastline
While walking along the shoreline, I merge upon the smooth wet sands at the beach. The scenery, as I gradually edge closer to the oceanfront, is peaceful. That is until a wildly vivid shallow ocean wave, swiftly eddies inland. Drawing nearer, surrounding me at once, and floods the expanse with deepening flow.
It is quite as if the liquid landscape beneath me turns of its own accord, cascading inland across the direction of my approach. The dramatically whirling waves move quickly along, and create a sense of turbulence.
I wade into the forming slurry, across the rapidly desolidifying sands. The

Bleudaptoatl- The Geoproteanthrope Pod surges with pressure from a central cavity. Inside stirs the egg-bearing Lotaurelious. When the Lotaurelious reaches maturity the Pod’s thoracic segmental hatch breaches hold and dispenses an inky fluid. Then the crystalline drone ejects itself into the ocean and wiggles itself to cleanse and begin its descent. Birthed, now the g

Geoproteanthrope, Ecology of the life bringer
Ecology of the Life Bringer, Great Seeding of Many Terrestrial and Oceanic Worlds The fission pods are many fathoms deep under the gulf. Ecologically adept, each pod has the capacity of spawning a plethora of highly advanced flora and fauna. Poised for delivering a copious assortment of rapidly integrative mimicries, all the while offering to advance and enrich a host of natural selection along with an interdependence among similar species akin to its nature. With a vast microcosm of explicitly correlative symbioses, these microecologies, are introductive of many species capable of metamorphic convergence between the matrixes of animal, vegetable, and even the dramatic transmutation of minerals utilizing highly adaptive synergistic microbes to transmute the prevalent soil compositions. Microbialization of the soil begins with the rapid reproduction and dispersion of organisms ideally purposed for the rapid deconstruction of a specific range of material, establishing a foundation
They tended to sleep late in the winter, and often did so in communal dens. Woven earth and vine, buried beneath layer upon layer of snow, made for a shelter both hard to detect and harder to penetrate, be the assailant a plain-walker, a sky-hunter, or simply the coldness itself. Even if one of the twisted creatures were to make its way into the burrow, the intermingled, floating crystals of its inhabitants would make for a sharp welcome, to say nothing of the magic these relics bestowed upon their hosts. Against the cold, however, the den was perhaps most effective in its defense; stirred by the warmth and the breath of its small, mammalian

Festival of the Masks (FFM 07)
The fog rolled in again, just like it had every year, and the year before that, and the year before that. The seventh day of the seventh month, the day when the weaver and the herder met in the sky, the day where the heavens and earth made peace for just a single night. Stonetree was preparing, as they always did, for the Festival of the Masks. Bandits lurked on the outer edges of the forest, and unbeknownst to the citizens of this mountaintop sanctuary, war raged in Yiapa, a war at the foot of the mountain. Tonight, though, the season was at its fullest. Tonight, the people of Stonetree would rest. And tonight, the bandits would come, wearin

Prazm the All-Seeing (FFM 13)
Another day, another “debunker,” another glass of gin to make the night easier. Prazm the All-Seeing… hah. Peter couldn’t see much beyond the hazy mist forming on the edge of the glass, and it’d been like that his whole damn life. He’d thought it sounded like something right out of a movie; magic tricks, future sight, deception and awed applause… and fat pockets by the time the night was up. All he’d gotten was a string of little old ladies, a kid or two, and those damned asshats who came in with video cameras to film the “phony” that had been dragged to their doorstep with the rest
On massive padded feet they crept. They always hunted in packs of four – great packs of many were often formed and disbanded, wars and feuds might break out between them, but it was always in fours they hunted. It was cold up this high: thousands of feet in the air, atop the largest mountains the world had to offer, there was naught but snow and silence. Foot after foot after foot of snow… and howling wind, too, of course, but the hunters couldn’t hear it. They could see, though – it was far too cold for any creature with normal eyes to survive, since the fluid in them would freeze, but the eyes of the hunters were emb
